Adapalene (Differin) is a topical retinoid and the recommended first-line prescription treatment for acne. It unblocks pores, reduces inflammation and prevents new spots from forming. It’s better tolerated than older retinoids like tretinoin. Available OTC at 0.1% in some formulations. Results take 8-12 weeks - patience is essential.
