Mirabegron (Betmiga) represents a different approach to overactive bladder - it works through beta-3 receptors rather than blocking muscarinic receptors, meaning it avoids the anticholinergic side effects (dry mouth, constipation, cognitive effects) that plague older bladder medications. An important option for elderly patients where anticholinergic burden is a concern.

Driving & machinery

Antimuscarinics may cause drowsiness and blurred vision. Tamsulosin may cause dizziness. Do not drive until you know how it affects you.

Age restriction

Adults 18 and over. Desmopressin: used in children for nocturnal enuresis from age 5.

Storage

Store below 25°C in a dry place. Keep out of reach and sight of children. Do not use after the expiry date.
