In brief…

Capsaicin cream is derived from chilli peppers and works by depleting a pain-signalling chemical called substance P from nerve endings. It's a drug-free alternative for localised joint pain and certain types of nerve pain. The burning sensation on first use is temporary and fades with regular application.
