Montelukast is a once-daily tablet that reduces airway inflammation through a completely different mechanism to steroids. It’s particularly useful when asthma coexists with allergic rhinitis (hayfever), when exercise triggers symptoms, or as add-on therapy when inhalers alone aren’t enough. Simple to take - no inhaler technique required.
