Caribbean & Oceania

  • A doctor every time
  • Today, every day.

What does the appointment involve?

A Tonga visa medical usually involves the following, based on Tonga visa medical's current requirements as we understand them today.

  • Examination: General medical examination and character/fitness assessment

  • Other tests: None named in the published guidance; if Tonga gives you a form, we follow it

  • The report: Completed on the destination's own form, an embassy template, or a covering report we draft, with all signatures and stamps included.

Is there anything else I should know?

  • Requirements and forms are your responsibility. Visa medical requirements change and embassies do not always announce it, so you must check the current requirements directly with the Tonga embassy or High Commission in London, obtain the correct forms, and satisfy yourself that you have exactly what your application needs. We will help wherever we can, but confirming what Tonga requires is yours to do.

  • Part of this process may need to be completed in the destination country; we complete the UK part.

  • Guidance says the certificate may come from a doctor overseas. Check with Tonga's Immigration Division that a UK doctor's certificate is accepted before you book.

What does Tonga ask for?

Tonga's published requirements for employment, business and assured income visas include a medical report from a licensed doctor, issued within the past six months. The guidance we found does not name a set form or list specific tests. If Tonga gives you a form, please bring it and we will complete it; if not, we write the report for you. Tonga also asks for a police clearance issued within three months and two character references, which are separate from your medical. Requirements and forms can change, so please check the current requirements and form with the Tonga High Commission in London or Tonga's Immigration Division or your agent before you book.

Questions, answered.

What should I bring?

Contact the Tongan Immigration Division or nearest mission before booking, to obtain the current medical form and confirm a UK GP can complete it.

Is there an official form?

There is no official form we can reliably link for Tonga. We draft the doctor's certificate to the format your Tonga embassy or High Commission in London, or your sponsor, specifies. If they give you a blank form, bring it and we complete it.
