In brief…

Oxybutynin is one of the oldest and most established medications for overactive bladder. While it’s effective, oral oxybutynin has more anticholinergic side effects than newer options. The transdermal patch (Kentera) reduces these side effects. Interestingly, oxybutynin is also increasingly used off-licence for hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating).

Safety information

Driving & machinery

Antimuscarinics may cause drowsiness and blurred vision. Tamsulosin may cause dizziness. Do not drive until you know how it affects you.

Age restriction

Adults 18 and over. Desmopressin: used in children for nocturnal enuresis from age 5.

Storage

Store below 25°C in a dry place. Keep out of reach and sight of children. Do not use after the expiry date.
