Daridorexant (brand name Quviviq) is a newer prescription medicine for long-term insomnia. Rather than sedating you, it blocks orexin, the brain signal that keeps you awake, and it carries a lower dependence risk than older sleeping tablets. NICE recommends it after talking therapy for insomnia has been tried or is unsuitable.

Can cause next-day drowsiness that may affect driving. Do not drive until you know how it affects you, particularly the morning after.
Age restriction
Adults 18 and over. Used with caution and a lower dose in those over 65.
Storage
Store below 25°C in a dry place. Keep out of reach and sight of children. Do not use after the expiry date.
