Naltrexone is a prescription medication used in the Sinclair Method to reduce problem drinking. In the UK, it is rarely prescribed on the NHS for this indication, so almost all patients pay privately. There are two costs to think about: the medication itself, and the clinical service that gets you the prescription.
A pack of 28 naltrexone 50mg tablets retails between £85 and £100 from UK private pharmacies in 2026. The exact price varies by pharmacy, brand, and supply availability.
Sinclair Method UK Ltd's specialist pharmacy: £89-99 per 28 tablets
Rethink Drink's pharmacy: £85 per 28 tablets
ChooseNUL: medication included in their £199/month subscription
LoveMyLife in-house pharmacy: £99/pack retail or £79/pack at member rate (Programme/Ongoing tiers)
How long a pack lasts depends entirely on how often you drink. The protocol is one tablet per drinking occasion, so a regular daily drinker uses about a pack a month, while someone who drinks two or three days a week uses a pack every six to eight weeks.
UK private providers structure the clinical service in different ways:
LoveMyLife — four tiers from £99 (form-reviewed prescription) to £499 (90-day doctor-led, nurse-delivered programme)
Sinclair Method UK Ltd — £595 for a 12-week programme or £795 for 5 months, one-off, medication separate
ChooseNUL — £50 suitability assessment, then £199/month subscription with medication included (3-month minimum)
Rethink Drink — coaching-led 90-day programme, pricing available on signup
Adding service fee plus medication, total cost varies a lot by provider:
LoveMyLife Direct + 1 pack: ~£198
LoveMyLife Programme + 3-pack medication: ~£740
Sinclair Method UK 12-week + 3 packs: ~£860-892
ChooseNUL 3-month subscription + setup: £647
Rethink Drink: ~£600-800 + ~£255 medication
Most providers recommend a baseline liver function test (LFT). At LoveMyLife our LFT is £49 via our own lab, or you can bring a recent NHS LFT for free. Other providers' bloods range from £49 to £73. Some, including LoveMyLife and TSMUK, allow patients to start without an LFT initially if their history is low-risk.
